Just some hot takes I’ve been thinking about lately.

Look, I didn’t ask to have strong opinions, but here we are. These hot takes have not been peer-reviewed, approved by HR, or even slept on. Proceed with caution (and snacks).

  1. “Going viral” is not a strategy, it’s a prayer.

  2. The best-performing ads usually look like someone made them in PowerPoint at 2 AM.

  3. Data-driven creativity kills actual creativity.

  4. Consumers don’t care if your logo is in the bottom-right corner or the center—they skip after 5 seconds.

  5. If your ad needs a 3-paragraph explanation in the caption, it’s not good.

  6. Real talk: your product is boring. Make the ad insane.

  7. 90% of influencer UGC ads are glorified hostage videos.

  8. No one watches your full video ad unless they’re trapped in an Uber or on the toilet.

  9. The best ads are just memes with a logo.

  10. Gen Alpha won’t even know what a static ad is.
